EROWA Integrated Tooling System (ITS)
Zero-point clamping system for maximum precision with electrodes and workpieces:
The EROWA ITS (Integrated Tooling System) was originally developed for die-sinking EDM and quickly set new standards in standardized electrode and workpiece clamping. Today, however, the ITS is far more than just an EDM clamping system: it has established itself as a compact, high-precision zero-point clamping system for a wide variety of manufacturing processes.
Thanks to its modular design, the ITS is used not only in die-sinking EDM but also in milling, grinding, measuring, and automated manufacturing cells. The standardized interface enables process-reliable workpiece clamping across multiple machining steps—manually or in combination with CNC automation.
The combination of the proven ITS clamping principle and process-specific components such as electrode holders, adapters, and pallets ensures repeatable positioning of workpieces and electrodes throughout the entire process chain. With a repeatability of less than 0.002 mm, high system rigidity, and defined reference surfaces, the ITS system forms the basis for stable, reproducible manufacturing processes—from single-part production to automated series production.
Applications of the ITS system:
- Milling: Precise setup of electrodes and workpieces at an identical zero point
- Sink-eroding (EDM): Precise and repeatable electrode positioning for defined geometries
- Measurement: Standardized mounting for inspecting workpieces and electrodes
- Tool and mold making: Secure clamping of the smallest, most complex components with tight tolerances
- Automated manufacturing: Can be combined with EROWA handling devices and the EROWA JMS 4.0 process control system
- Hybrid processes: Quick switching between milling and EDM without re-referencing
